Plate math,
done at the rack.

IronMath is an offline-first barbell plate calculator and set log. Type the weight you want and see exactly what goes on each side of the bar, in pounds or kilos, with the plates your gym actually has.

Pounds by default, 45 lb Olympic bar pre-selected. No ads. No third-party analytics.

The same solver, in your browser.

This is IronMath's plate solver ported to plain JavaScript, loaded with the app's default Commercial Gym plates. Type a target and it finds the load, per side.

Plates (pairs): 55 ×2, 45 unlimited, 35 ×2, 25 ×2, 10 ×4, 5 ×2, 2.5 ×2. In the app you set your own pair inventory, collars and micro plates.

How it works

Three taps between you and the set.

There is no keypad chrome in the way. Tap a number, a pad slides up with Clear and Done, and it slides away when you are finished.

1

Type the target

Enter the weight, or nudge it with the −/+ 2.5 steppers. LB and KG read out side by side.

2

Load each side

IronMath solves the sleeve from the plates your gym owns. If the exact number is not loadable, it shows the next weight down and up.

3

Log the set

Pick the lift, tap the reps, add an RPE if you like. It calls out a personal record on the spot and starts your rest timer.

Five tabs

Everything the bar asks of you.

Load, Reverse, Warm-Up, Log and Tools, with Settings for your gyms and plates.

Load

Target to sleeve

Dual LB/KG readout, −/+ 2.5 steppers, the next loadable weight up and down, bar and collar presets, and one-tap set logging.

Reverse

Plates to total

Tap plates onto an empty sleeve and read the live total. Log it straight from there.

Warm-Up

A ramp you can load

Quick, Standard or Thorough ramps with reps, plus keep / strip / add hints between sets.

Log

Every set, by day

Per-lift bests, an estimated-max trend, and CSV export through the share sheet.

Tools

The math around the lift

1RM, RPE/RIR, percentage chart, DOTS and IPF GL, meet attempts, LB/KG converter, rest timer and gym glance.

Settings

Your gym, your plates

Gym profiles, pair inventory, rounding bias, warm-up ramp, haptics, and bumper vs black iron plates.

Warm-Up

Know what to strip before you strip it.

Pick a ramp and a working weight. Every rung is solved against your plates, and IronMath tells you what to take off and put on from the last set.

  • Quick. Four sets. When the gym is busy or the weight is light.
  • Standard. Six sets. The default ramp for most working weights.
  • Thorough. Seven sets with smaller jumps. For heavy singles and meet day.

How the solver picks plates

A subset-sum over one sleeve, stepped by the greatest common divisor of the plates your gym owns. It is small enough to re-solve on every keystroke, even with quarter-pound micro plates on the rack.

ClosestThe default. Whichever bar is nearer. Exact ties go to the lighter one.
Never go overAlways round down.
Never come in lightAlways round up, or the heaviest your gym can build.

Rounding bias

When the number isn't loadable.

You decide which way to miss. The bias applies to Load, Warm-Up, the percentage chart and the glasses HUD, so a ramp set to "never go over" never goes over.
